Who’s up For Some Health Insurance?

In a period of American history where “growing turmoil” perfectly describes the atmosphere, immediate answers seem like the best solution. However, most of the answers spewed out from major media stations, whether it is CNN, MSNBC, or—not surprisingly at all—FOX News, are quite frankly incorrect. Unfortunately, most factual errors come in the most serious issue to date: healthcare. President Obama’s plan is good, but not great; when it comes to Universal Healthcare… that’s great. The Recession…

It is about time someone came out of the shadows of a speechless population and say enough is enough directly to government. In this case, government means most Republicans: they might just become the sole reason America can’t rise from the ashes of this worsening depression. There is no time for excessive debating over that which has already been proven wrong. But wait, there’s more

You’re Obnoxious, But Don’t Take It Directly…

January 10, 2009 leftisk07 6 comments

Before I get into the subject, let me say this. I’m not perfect. I’m not anything. Just peeved. I don’t mean to offend. But if I do, something clicked in your head, not mine. Something matched up. And, it’s very evident to me that I rant, believe it or not. But this blog isn’t for me. It’s for people who suffer from everything mentioned in it, especially stuff relating to school discrimination.

This word’s been coming up in my head for quite some time. What defines obnoxious? I keep on thinking of certain kids in my school. The ones who are so much embroiled in their own popularity, they logic seems to fade away from the reality of things. Some of them might understand reality, but continue to boast.

Take for instance, a guy who happens to have many friends that are girls, but finds the need to hug each of them in front of his not so lucky guy friends. Or maybe, the ones who make unnecessary faces, comments, or statements about other people who might be their friends’ behind their own back. Of course there might end up being the immature comments in response saying that this guy might be gay. Rude, hell yeah. Still, obnoxious nonetheless.

Surely, someone I know will read this and say it’s a direct stab towards them. To which I respond, it’s not them. It’s not anyone in particular, because many guys end up making such stupid moves. Should you suddenly stop? Not necessarily. But keep in mind, you don’t need to do what you do. Your own friends might even get pissed. Before anyone says it… no, I’m not pissed about the matter. Just a little bothered.

Just look at Facebook for ten seconds and you’ll see the light. It’s not that hard to find. Start off in the pictures. Good lord. The frightening yet obsessive need to post 5,000,000 pictures of oneself and then comment on each and every single one of them is creepy. You don’t even have to comment on them. Hell, you don’t even need 5,000,000 pictures. Just an unnecessarily ugly face. Not just silly. Gruesome. To get a point across. Or the person drunk beyond their mind and embarrassing himself or herself for everyone to see.

The question becomes why? Why act this way? It’s a different story when someone admits they’re obnoxious, or aren’t doing it on a constant basis or in several streaks of days. But when people don’t even realize it, there’s an obvious problem. There’s that hint of arrogance behind it. It’s almost as if they think too highly of themselves, when it’s just not necessary. It’s not “having fun.” If you’re in high school, everyone floats in the same boat. We haven’t accomplished enough to have a huge amount of pride in ourselves, and we won’t until long after graduation. That’s the reality of it.

Eh, if I keep ranting, I’ll end up looking obnoxious, too. But I need your thoughts.

Why be this way?
